Chaplain Bob Burchell provides spiritual support for IWU non-residential students and directs chaplain ministries. He and his wife, Cindy, live in Marion, Indiana, and share three children: Robert, Lauran and Brad.
Originally from Waukesha, Wisconsin (Milwaukee area), Bob enjoys outdoors activities such as road bicycling and snowshoeing. He is involved in Boy Scouting with his two sons and enjoys watching movies with his daughter and wife. Bob can be found shopping eBay, exploring blogs, and browsing Facebook. He also manages to make time to be a serious Green Bay Packer fan.
Bob became a follower of Jesus Christ at age 25, while living in Wisconsin. Shortly thereafter, he sensed a call from God to go into full-time vocational ministry. This led him to Indiana Wesleyan University where he received two degrees. Bob served as a pastor for nineteen years prior to coming to IWU, and is an ordained minister in the Wesleyan Church. Bob is “passionate about helping students reach their full potential in God.”
