Jule Kind, MLS, has served with Indiana Wesleyan University as Director of Off Campus Library Services since 1993. She received her bachelors’ degree in nursing from Ball State University and her Masters in Library Science from the University of Kentucky.
Prior to coming to IWU, she worked as a registered nurse in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky; served as a pastor’s wife; taught Lamaze classes; worked for a home health agency; served as a missionary with her husband in Sierra Leone Bible College in Sierra Leone, West Africa; worked at Asbury Seminary, Asbury College, and Christian Theological Seminary.
In her role as Director of Off Campus Library Services, she started the department and then led it from servicing under 2,000 students to the current enrollment of just over 10,000 nonresidential students. When the department started there was no access to any library databases or online catalog for the distance student. Now there are dozens of databases and all of the books, journals and media are available to the distance students and faculty.
